100+ Women Who Care Sanibel & Captiva Launches 2026 Season with Powerful First Meeting

Sanibel, FL – The first 2026 meeting of 100+ Women Who Care Sanibel & Captiva on February 10th was an inspiring success, bringing together 146 members for the organization’s signature “Power Hour.” The room was filled with connection, purpose, and a shared commitment to strengthening the Sanibel and Captiva community through collective giving.

After an hour of inspiring presentations and thoughtful consideration, members voted to direct the group’s pooled donation to Trailways Camps Inc. as the first grant recipient of the season. Their mission resonated strongly with members, and the funding will support their meaningful impact locally.

Two additional nonprofits were recognized for their compelling presentations. Roots for Resilience and Zonta Sanibel-Captiva each delivered five-minute pitches highlighting the important work they are doing in the community. Their presentations showcased the passion and dedication that define Sanibel and Captiva’s nonprofit landscape.

New this year, thanks to the generosity of anonymous donors, the first-place nonprofit will receive an additional matching contribution. The second- and third-place nonprofits will also receive a contribution in recognition of their impact—further extending the collective reach of 100+ Women Who Care Sanibel & Captiva.

The 100+ Women Who Care program is generously sponsored this season by Florida Trust Wealth Management, whose continued partnership helps make each gathering—and the impact they create—possible.

Interested in Making a Pitch?

One of the most meaningful parts of 100+ Women Who Care is hearing directly from local nonprofits about the work they are doing in our community.

At each meeting, members may self-nominate by completing a pitch card, listing their name, the nonprofit they wish to pitch on behalf of, and the nonprofit’s EIN. Three pitch cards are randomly selected. If a member’s card is chosen, that member delivers a five-minute pitch on behalf of the nonprofit, followed by a brief Q&A before the group votes on where the collective donation will be directed.

To be eligible to receive funding, organizations must:

·       Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with an active EIN

·       Be located on Sanibel or Captiva, or directly serve the Sanibel and Captiva community

Members interested in pitching may stop by the Pitch Card table at the meeting to complete a nomination card.

About the 100 Who Care Alliance

The 100 Who Care Alliance was established as a volunteer-led initiative by four 100 Who Care chapter leaders seeking to share ideas and best practices among giving circles across the country. Recognizing that chapter leaders often face similar opportunities and challenges—while operating in diverse geographic locations—the Alliance was created to foster collaboration, support, and shared learning among 100 Who Care chapter leaders worldwide. www.100whocarealliance.org
