Community Health Dashboard
SanCap360 began with a simple but important idea: our community needed reliable information to understand how Sanibel and Captiva were recovering from Hurricane Ian and where additional attention and investment were needed.
The initiative was first developed by a group of engaged citizens known as Sanibel Solutions, with assistance from the Florida Gulf Coast University’s Ain Design Hub. In the years since the storm, the islands have made significant progress, and the dashboard’s purpose has evolved with them. What began as a tool for measuring recovery is now becoming a broader resource for understanding the long-term health, vitality, and well-being of our island community.
Today, SanCap360 is a collaborative effort of the Charitable Foundation of the Islands (funded through the Community Impact Fund), the City of Sanibel, and the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce, with the dashboard designed and developed by Hammerhead Technology.
By bringing together meaningful information about our economy, community well-being, environment, infrastructure, and public services, SanCap360 helps residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations, civic leaders, and community partners better understand the forces shaping our islands. Our goal is to make trusted data accessible so our community can identify emerging needs, measure progress, and make more informed decisions and investments in the future of Sanibel and Captiva.
